A shared orientation exploring moral decision-making through classical Jewish sources, and contemporary leadership dilemmas.
Participants then continue through three interwoven pathways:
Cultivating curiosity, ethical imagination, and community responsibility through guided study and reflective leadership practice.
Delivered in partnership with local schools and community groups, this pathway helps young people explore who they are as emerging Jewish leaders, connect deeply with their values, and develop the skills to contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Empowering emerging leaders to translate Jewish wisdom into purposeful civic and communal leadership through coaching, experiential learning, and values-driven practice.
Delivered in partnership with universities, shules, and community organisations, this pathway supports young adults as they discover their purpose, develop practical leadership skills, and step into roles that strengthen both Jewish and broader civic life.
Engaging mentors and seasoned leaders to refine their own leadership while guiding younger cohorts through reflective dialogue, applied mentorship, and shared community practice.
Delivered in partnership with community-owned businesses, shules, and community groups, this pathway empowers established leaders to deepen their impact, strengthen intergenerational connections, and help shape the next generation of Jewish leadership.
Each stage re-engages the same Torah, Avot and Sanhedrin texts, deepening from story → practice → reflection, building moral coherence and shared vocabulary across generations.

Derekh’s programs are open to all members of the Jewish community. While our educational approach is guided by Conservative/Masorti values and a commitment to thoughtful, text-based inquiry, we warmly welcome participants of every background, level of observance, and personal journey.
Learning happens between generations, not in silos — youth, emerging leaders, and mentors learn from one another.
Classical Jewish teachings are paired with contemporary frameworks like adaptive leadership, experiential learning, and values-based decision-making.
Participants build not just skills, but moral clarity and resilience — leadership as service, not status.
Programs culminate in community-based projects, evaluated through reflective journals, mentor feedback, and measurable outcomes.
